"IN - BETWEENER" PROGRAM

The following is a description of some terrific Zodiac programs for students who have completed all Red Cross Levels, yet are not old enough for Leadership courses.

Swim Patrol - Go Further! - A Life Saving Society Program

Skill drills enhance capability in the water, good physical conditioning and lifesaving judgment.

Swimmers will learn and improve upon the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). The participants will also be introduced to different training techniques that include racing starts and turns. They will be encouraged to track their personal best times and participate in team relays.
Prerequisite(s): Swim Kids Level 10
Class Duration: 60 minutes
Student/Teacher Ratio: 10:1

Synchro Club A Synchro Swim Ontario Program

This newly redesigned Synchro Swim Ontario program is an amazing alternative aquatic program for those who love swimming, gymnastics and dance led by trained, certified staff.  Zodiac follows the Swim Synchro! six-level graduated skill development program. The focus of this program is on learning fun synchro skills and how to put these skills to music, it supports learn-to-swim programs and brings creativity to the aquatic environment.  From the first class, participants begin linking their swimming and synchro skills together with music creating fun sequences!  As the participants move through the levels, they are challenged with new and more difficult skills and will create more complex sequences and routines.  All new participants will receive a nose clip on their first class.
Prerequisite(s): Swim Kids Level 10
Class Duration: 60 minutes
Student/Teacher Ratio: 10:1

Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) - A Life Saving Society Program

Skill development will take place in such areas as swimming skills, lifesaving skills, personal fitness, leadership and teamwork. Effort and success are recognized with Recognition Seals when a participant meets personal goals and sets personal bests. Participants will receive a club t-shirt and a Waterlog to track their successes. Participants take part in activities that are similar to those of real lifeguards in a safe, fun and controlled setting.
