A Lifesaving Society Program
NLS Course Description:
This training builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge and values taught in the lifesaving awards. NLS is the recognized standard measurement of lifeguard performance in Canada. This education program is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard.
AED Course Description:
This course builds on the skills learned in CPR and first aid courses. It provides knowledge of how the heart works and what goes wrong when defibrillation is required. Candidates will learn when and how to operate a public access defibrillator.
As a whistle and basic first aid kit are required for use and evaluated in NLS they have both been included in the course cost and will be issued to each candidate on the first class along with their required texts, The Alert Manual & The Canadian First Aid Manual. Candidates will also receive a Lifeguard waist pack to carry their CPR mask and gloves.
