Water Safety Instructor Transfer

Canadian Red Cross Program

This conversion course provides current experienced instructors with a detailed overview of the Red Cross Swim program. It teaches candidates how to apply their knowledge and skills to this program. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to perform all of the Red Cross stroke standards and skill items. Candidates are evaluated through this practical performance and the completion of a classroom assignment.

Candidates will receive a laminated stroke evaluation chart and the Red Cross lesson plan CD.

Although not required, it is strongly recommended that candidates purchase the Red Cross Assistant Instructor and the Instructor Manual.

Prerequisite(s):

Current Lifesaving and/or Swim Instructor or YMCA Instructor AND a letter from an employer confirming the completion of a minimum of 20 hours instructional experience

Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor Manual & Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Manual
(If a candidate does not have this manual, it can be purchased from Zodiac at time of registration)
