TERRIFIC TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
The feedback about our safe, efficient and effective methods for getting Zodiac campers to and from camp is extremely positive and includes the terrific transportation options outlined below.
Family Transportation, Free Extended Care
Zodiac is pleased to offer a safe and supervised drop-off and pick-up system at TFS for parents who can and want to drive their children to and from camp (or authorize their campers to travel on their own). Please note that:
- Parents providing their own transportation are responsible for dropping off and picking up their child(ren) at the designated TFS drop-off & pick-up areas
- Drop-off takes place between 8:00am (FREE SUPERVISED EARLY DROP-OFF) and 8:45am (after 8:45am, you must park your car and sign in your camper(s))
- Pick-up takes place between 4:00pm and 4:30pm from the designated pick-up area
- After 4:30pm, remaining campers are taken to the TFS gym for our FREE SUPERVISED EXTENDED PROGRAM (4:30pm until 5:30pm) (a charge of $1.00 per minute after 5:30pm for each camper picked up late will apply).
Door-to-Door Bus Transportation
We are pleased to be able to again offer safe, secure and supervised door-to-door bus transportation in Summer 2010 WITHIN THE DOOR-TO-DOOR BUS TRANSPORTATION ZONE identified on the next page. No door-to-door transportation will be available outside such zone or in areas that buses (in Zodiac’s discretion) cannot easily and safely enter/exit (i.e. narrow streets, etc.). Most of our bus routes (other than on first days and as a result of traffic problems) should involve trip lengths between 15 and 45 minutes each way (other than bus depots outside of the Door-to-Door Bus Transportation Zone which may take longer). Some trip lengths may take longer due to factors such as location of area, size of bus, narrowness of streets etc.
Depending on the demand and logistics in certain areas, we will either use mini-buses or regular buses to help ensure a safe, efficient route. Campers will be expected to be ready when the bus arrives at their door in the morning or the bus will depart in order to ensure the bus route schedule is maintained. Parents will be given approximately a 15 minute “window” for both pick-up and drop-off (e.g. 8:00am to 8:15am) and the camper(s)/parent(s) MUST be ready at any time during this window (which may change upon notice and from session to session). Door-to-door bus transportation will not start earlier than 8:00am and many campers will be picked up later than 8:00am. The cost for optional door-to-door bus transportation is a reasonable $12.50 (approximately) per camper per day for 2- way transportation (i.e. $125.00 for a 10 day session).
DOOR-TO-DOOR TRANSPORTATION ZONE (SHADED)**

** Zone extended south to Davenport between Bathurst and Spadina
Bus Depot Transportation
Some families, while wanting the convenience of bus transportation, live outside of the Door-to-Door Bus Transportation Zone. Zodiac has outlined a number of bus depots outside such zone in the enclosed Camper Application Package. Bus depots are not offered within the door-to-door transportation zone. Please indicate your choice of bus depot location from the list outlined or suggest another bus depot location in the space indicated that would be more convenient for you (which will be considered if there is sufficient demand, in Zodiac’s discretion). Parents must be at the designated bus depot at least 5-10 minutes in advance of the stipulated morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off times. The bus cannot and will not wait for latecomers in the morning (late parents will have to drive their campers to camp). Similarly, the bus cannot wait for those picking up campers at the end of the day and will meet late parents at the last route stop (a charge of $1.00 per minute after arrival at the last stop will apply).
Bus depot transportation, depending on location, will involve pick-up sometime between 7:40am and 8:30am. The cost for bus depot transportation is a reasonable $12.50 (approximately) per camper per day for 2-way transportation between the bus depot and the campsite (i.e. $125.00 for a 10-day session).
Cancellation of Bus Service
Any cancellation of door-to-door or bus depot transportation must be received in writing more than one week prior to the start of a session and any refund will be subject to a $25.00 administration fee per two week session for each camper registered for bus transportation (no refund will be issued for cancellations received one week (or less) prior to the start of a session or once the session has begun).
