A TASTE OF OVERNIGHT CAMP AT...

We are incredibly excited by the feedback from Zodiac campers, families and staff about Zodiac’s overnight camp, Camp Tamarack. Camp Tamarack is one of Ontario’s most respected and established overnight camps. Its impressive facilities are located on a beautiful private lake in the heart of Muskoka. We look forward to having Zodiac campers enjoying Tamarack’s multi-faceted program and camp spirit, all while building friendship and memories.

While a number of Zodiac campers will enjoy Tamarack’s 4-week, 3-week and 7-week sessions, 7-10 year old campers have some exciting additional options. In order to give 7-10 year olds who have not yet experienced overnight camp a “taste of Tamarack”, we offer the following opportunities:


Acorn Program:

Campers born in 1998-2003 have the option of registering for Tamarack’s two-week (Friday July 2-Thursday July 15, 2010) or nine-day (Thursday July 29-Friday August 6, 2010) introductory Acorn sessions. The beauty of this option is that it allows Acorn campers to extend their stay at Tamarack when their introductory session ends too soon! Mini-Acorn Program... "Taste of Tamarack":

Campers born in 2000-2003 who register for at leat one session at Zodiac Swim & Specialty Camp, Tamarack’s partner day camp in Toronto, have another mini “taste of Tamarack” opportunity.


WHEN?

Two different three-day, two-night weekend experiences at Tamarack are available, departing at approximately 9:00 am on Friday from Zodiac’s Toronto French School campsite and returning at approximately 4:00 pm on Sunday as follows:

  • Friday July 16 – Sunday July 18, 2010; or
  • Friday August 6 – Sunday August 8, 2010

WHAT?

Zodiac campers and staff will be immersed in the Camp Tamarack experience… participation in a variety of land sports (ropes, climbing, gymnastics, hockey, etc.), water sports (e.g. waterskiing, sailing, canoeing, etc.), visual arts, performing arts, outdoor adventure and more (great group activities as well as individual choice)…joining in all aspects of camp life from cheering in the dining hall to fireside sing songs…even writing their first letter home from camp! Zodiac campers will enjoy Tamarack’s great accommodations, food, programs…more importantly, they will meet new friends and develop wonderful camp memories.

WHO?

The “taste of Tamarack” Mini-Acorn experience is available to any Zodiac camper aged 7 to 10 (finishedGrade 1-4) registered for at least one 1 or 2week session at Zodiac in Summer 2010. Your camper will miss a Friday (July 16th in Session 1, August 6th in Session 3) if enrolled in the session during which the weekend Tamarack experience is taking place (in which case you will not be entitled to any discount off your Zodiac fee). Zodiac campers will be accompanied and supervised at all times by Zodiac staff, as well as having the opportunity to extensively interact with Camp Tamarack staff and campers.

WHY?

We are delighted to be able to offer Zodiac campers an opportunity to try the Tamarack overnight camp experience without having to commit to a 2, 3, 4 or 7 week period. If, as a result, some of the campers participate more fully at Tamarack the next summer, that would be great! A session or two at each of Zodiac and Tamarack sounds like a pretty awesome summer!

HOW?

You can register your camper for the Tamarack Mini-Acorn experience right on the Zodiac camp registration form. Zodiac is pleased to assume the cost of the entire 3-day, 2-night Tamarack overnight camp experience (including all programs, meals, accommodation, supervision and transportation). Please note that a $50.00 deposit is required at the time of registration to reserve a space for your camper. This deposit will be returned in full unless you cancel your camper’s Mini-Acorn enrollment less then two weeks prior to the start of the weekend in question (any cancellation must be recieved in writing).
