A Lifesaving Society Program
Bronze Medallion
This course offers an understanding of lifesaving principles contained in the 4 components of water-rescue education: judgment, fitness, knowledge and skill. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a timed swim.
Emergency First Aid-CPR B

The focus is on providing first aid for common injuries and core skills to reduce shock. In addition, the students learn to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies that occur in adults, children and infants.
As personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for use and evaluated in both programs a CPR mask and gloves has been included in the course cost and will be issued to each candidate on the first class along with their required text, The Canadian Lifesaving Manual.
